Product features
- Accurate water hardness monitoring: Helps maintain both total hardness (GH) and carbonate hardness (KH) in your aquarium.
- Easy to use: Fill the test tube with water, add the test solution, and count the number of drops until the colour changes.
- Suitable for freshwater and saltwater aquariums: Suitable for various types of aquariums.
- Fish-friendly: Contributes to optimal living conditions for your fish.
Instructions for use
Testing total hardness (GH):
- Fill the supplied test tube up to the mark with water from your aquarium.
- Add 3–4 drops of the indicator solution (with the green cap) to the water sample.
- Then add the GH test solution (with the red cap) drop by drop. Shake the test tube after each drop and count the number of drops added. The colour of the water will change from burgundy red to brown. The number of drops indicates the total hardness in degrees (1 drop = 1 degree GH).
Testing carbonate hardness (KH):
- Fill the test tube again to the mark with water from your aquarium.
- Add the KH test solution (with the yellow cap) drop by drop to the water sample. Shake the test tube after each drop. The solution will change from lilac to purple-yellow. The number of drops indicates the carbonate hardness in degrees (1 drop = 1 degree KH).
Why test water hardness?
Water hardness is an important parameter in any aquarium. Incorrect hardness levels can lead to stress or health problems in fish. By regularly checking the GH and KH levels of your aquarium water with the Panzi NK test kit, you can maintain the ideal conditions for a healthy and stable aquarium.
